VINNY FEDERAL INCOME TAX 2012 QUICK ESTIMATOR 12.0

INTRODUCTION
Vinny Federal Income Tax 2012 is a $2 utility program that
provides a quick estimate of your federal income tax for tax 
year 2011. The following are suggested uses:

1- Quick estimate, are you due a refund?, do you have to pay more?
2- Evaluate various personal or itemized deduction possibilities.
3- Cross check your normal tax preparation results.

The program steps and its reference data are noted below. 
The zip package vtax.zip contains the complete 32-bit utility 
program for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/XP/Vista/7. 


INSTALLATION
Unzip [vtax.zip] before trying to install Vinny Federal 
Income Tax. The zip file contains two files:
1-[readVtax.txt] is this file.
2-[install.exe] will install Vinny Federal Income Tax in a
directory of your choosing while creating an uninstall 
file along start menu items and an optional desktop icon.
 
The program steps are as follows:

Yellow boxes are for user input.
1-Select filing status radio button.
2-Check all exemptions that apply.
  Note age and sight exemptions are applied
  only if you use the standard deduction.
3-Enter adjusted gross income in 1st yellow box.
4-Enter total dependents claimed in 2nd yellow box.
5-Enter dependents under 17 during 2011 in 3rd yellow box.
6-Optional: Enter itemized deductions in 3rd yellow box.
  The program uses the larger of standard or itemized 
  deductions.
7-You can revise entries at any time.
8-Use the [Clear] button to reset all values to zero.
  When you exit the program a small file (vTax.txt) 
  in the vTax directory stores the last entered  values.

This program is intended to be used only to obtain a quick 
estimate of your federal income tax. The source data for 
the program is listed below:

The IRS booklet 2011 1040 instructions. 
1-Standard Deduction worksheet.
2-Deduction for exemptions worksheet.
3-Child Tax Credit worksheet.
3-2010 Tax Rate Schedules.

CAUTION
This program is NOT recommended to be used as a substitute
for your normal federal income tax preparation approach. 
As noted it should be used to provide a quick cross check 
or rough estimate.
